The National Black Gay Men’s Advocacy Coalition (NBGMAC) is committed to improving the health and well-being of Black gay men through advocacy that is focused on research, policy, education and training. NBGMAC was founded in April 2006 following months of strategic organizing by Black gay activist concerned about the lack of response to data showing the disproportionate burden of HIV on Black gay men.

IAS 2012 MSM Pre-Conference Registration is now open. 

NBGMAC is the local host for the MSM Global Forum pre-conference to AIDS 2012 to be held on July 21 in Washington, DC.  Registration for the pre-conference will be limited to 500 participants with 50% reserved for those from the Global South.  If you are interested in registering, I encourage you to do so today.  In the 24 hours after the link went live there have been 225 registrants worldwide!  Here is the link: www.msmgf.org/aids2012.  The registration is free.

NIH Launches "Clinical Research Trails and You" Website

The lack of public awareness about clinical research trials is one of the greatest challenges to recruiting volunteers for these potentially life-saving studies. In response, NIH has launched the “Clinical Research Trials and You” website as a resource for volunteers, health care providers, and voluntary advocacy groups to learn the basics about clinical research and to find out about ongoing studies in their area.

NBGMAC & National Minority AIDS Council partners together for Be The Generation Bridge Project

Be The Generation was created by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to to maintain and establish relationships with communities most impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in order to promote awareness, understanding, dialogue, and support for biomedical prevention research, including HIV vaccine research, microbicide research, and pre-exposure prophylaxis research.
